    Benefits Data Trust (BDT) is a national not-for-profit that seeks to strengthen its financial analytic capacity in order to inform strategic business decisions.  BDT has grown dramatically over the last several years in its core business across 6 states and has begun to diversify service offerings.  BDT seeks a Financial Analyst to assist leadership and the entire organization with the development of decision-making models, programmatic and annual budgets, forecasts, risk management, and mid- and long-range financial models. The Financial Analyst will analyze and report financial information and suggest improvements in operations and practice.  The Financial Analyst will report to the Director of Finance.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with the development of annual budgets, periodic forecasts for revenues and expenditures, mid- and long-range financial models
    • Work with executive team to structure financial reporting to the strategic goals of the business
    • Maintain financial data architecture by ensuring that the chart of accounts matches the needs for managerial and financial accounting
    • Maintain key models used in decision making and risk management; support regular review of these models by the leadership team
    • Devise methods for improved cost accounting so that program performance can be assessed financially
    • Work with data science team to democratize access to financial information through our business intelligence software
    • Prepare, review, and distribute monthly financial reports to business units and cost centers and support leadership team in using this information for planning and correcting
    • Prepare program budgets in coordination with multiple departments—and especially the development team
    • Support strategy and development teams with pricing (and product) recommendations
    • Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and recurring models as needed
    • Other duties, as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business analytics, or closely related field preferred
    • Three plus years of Financial Analysis experience required
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required; familiarity with business intelligence software preferred
    • Healthcare or for-profit experience strongly preferred
    • Proven track record of working with large groups or teams to implement changes resulting from financial analysis
    • Highly detail-oriented and capable of analyzing data with creativity and innovation in mind
    • Knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance,ratio analysis, and decision science
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaboratively
    • Solid understand understanding of cash- and accrual-based accounting
    • Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills
